The dark
shadows created by her full figure and more specifically
her breast, let the layers pop through the darkness
and made her heart finally visible. Layering her
over a weathered and graffiti covered door emphasizes
her humanity, suffering, and need. The speeding
missile across her stomach shows forces impinging
on her that could be internal as well as external.
One of those outside forces is our idea of what
is beautiful. Thin is in, many people starve themselves
physically to have that look and starve themselves
emotionally while attempting to control their hunger.
